ID Cards (identity cards) are controversial, and we do not take these issues lightly. But we believe there are compelling reasons to have them. Because ID badges will:
1. help protect people from identity fraud and theft
2. ensure that people are who they say they are
3. tackle illegal working and immigration abuse
4. disrupt the use of false and multiple identities by criminals and those involved in terrorist activity
5. ensure free public services are only used by those entitled to them
6. enable easier access to public services
