MouseMaestro Input Device Driver

Congratulations on your purchasing this exciting optical mouse. This multi-function optical office mouse is with great features, wheel for quick scrolling and optical sensor for preventing from the interference caused by dust.  All those human-oriented characteristics make you feel more comfortable and efficient while surfing on the websites or using applications. After the MouseMaestro driver installed, you will have "Quick Jump" function by clicking the "Office Button" to call the most often-used functions in Internet, Multimedia, Office and other application programs. Please install the MouseMaestro input Device Driver to find more great functions!

 

System Requirements

 

Software Installation  

The USB device driver is included in Windows system.

When the first time you plug in the USB keyboard, the system will automatically detect a new hardware connected and then bring up the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialogue box. Please follow the Wizard's USB driver installation steps. Once this installation step is completed the basic functions of the keyboard will work under the operating system. You may move the mouse to know the it works well.

If there is no USB port available, please plug in the "USB to PS/2 adaptor" in the package. Once the adaptor is plugged in, the system can support Windows® 95 system.

  1. Insert the driver CD into your CD-ROM.

  2. Run "SetupKey.exe".

  3. Follow the on-screen instruction to install the driver.

  4. The default installation path is set to c:\Program Files\MMaestro. You have the option to change the install path during setup.

    The driver icon will show on Windows system tray when the driver is loaded. When all procedures are finished, the PC needs to restart.

 

Uninstallation

  1. Right-click the driver icon and select "Exit" command to exit the driver program.

  2. Click "Start" menu (on the left-bottom taskbar).

  3. Move cursor to "Programs" in "Start" menu.

  4. Move cursor again to "MouseMaestro".

  5. Select "Uninstallation".

  6. Click on the "Remove Program" icon

  7. Click "Yes" to confirm you want to uninstall.

 

Battery Low Indication

There are  3  levels for battery power indication. Battery low icon  will show on Windows system tray when mouse batteries are low (at Level 2 & Level 3). Power status will show up on Windows system tray when moving the cursor onto MouseMaestro driver icon .

Level 1:  Battery power is full.

Level 2: Battery power is about 30%, power state is low. A battery low icon  will appear beside MouseMaestro driver icon . We suggest you recharge the rechargeable batteries at this status.

Level 3: Battery runs out off power. Battery low icon  will appear beside MouseMaestro driver icon  and keep flashing to give warning message. Please do recharge the rechargeable batteries when this flashing icon appears, or the bad batteries may cause problem when operating this mouse.

Note: 

  1. After the rechargeable batteries are recharged, battery low icon  will disappear.

  2. When the mouse or rechargeable battery is recharging, the Red LED indicator at mouse front side will flash steadily to show recharging status.

  3. After the recharging procedure is complete, the Green LED indicator at mouse front will be steady lit.

 

Mouse Quick Jump Functions

After installing MouseMaestro Input Device Driver, you can press "Office  Button" to pop up the "Quick Jump" Menu. By clicking on this "Quick Jump" Menu, you can easily access different Functions. 

There are five items including Internet, Multimedia, Office, Application Programs, and Exit in the inner circle. When moving the cursor onto each items, different functions will pop up at the outer circle. Please refer to the following descriptions:

When clicking on  icon located on inner circle, an Internet function menu would pop up at outer circle : 

Functions like Web / home, Favorites, Search, Mail, Refresh, Back, Next, Stop are included. 

Web / Home

To start your Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and bring up the home page you set.

Favorites

To select a web page from your list of favorites.

Search

To gain access to a number of search providers.

Mail

To open the default program you use for mail.

Refresh

Refreshes the current Web page to make sure you have the latest Web page.

Back

To return the last page you viewed.

Forward

To view the next page you’ve viewed before.

Stop

If a page you’re trying to view is taking too long to open, click this button to stop.

When clicking on  icon located on inner circle, a Multimedia function menu would pop up at outer circle : 

Functions like Volume Down, Volume Up, Mute, Previous Track, Next Track, Play/Pause, Stop, Eject/Close are included.

Volume Down

Volume Up

Control the volume to down or up of your audio output of speakers.

Mute

Mute or resume sound output

Previous Track

Skip backward to the previous track.

Next Track

Skip backward to the next track.

Play / Pause

Play file in the current track. Press again to pause.

Stop

Stop playing.

Eject / Close

Eject the CD tray. Press again to close tray cover.

When clicking on  icon located on inner circle, an often-used application program menu would pop up at outer circle :

Functions like Word, Excel, Power Point, Calendar, Calculator, Shortcut 1~ Shortcut 3 are included.

Word

Opens Microsoft Word.

Excel

Opens Microsoft Excel.

Power Point

Opens Microsoft PowerPoint.

Calendar

Opens "Calendar" function of Microsoft Outlook Express.

Calculator

Opens "Calculator" function of Microsoft Windows.  

 

Shortcut 1

This can provide you to create easy accesses to the documents and programs you use most often.

 

Note: The default setting for each Shortcut button is different. For example, Shortcut 1 is to launch Windows accessory program “My document”, Shortcut 2 is to launch "Word Pad", and Shortcut 3 is to "File Explore".

              When clicking on  icon located on inner circle, an often-used application program menu would pop up at outer circle :

             

          Functions like Copy, Paste, Cut, Undo, Redo, New, Open, Save are included.

            

 

Copy

Copies the selection to the clipboard.

 

Paste

Pastes the previously cut or copied items from the clipboard.

 

Cut

Removes the selection from the active documents.

 

Undo

Reverses the last command or deletes the last entry you typed or action.

 

Redo

Reverses the action of the Undo command.

 

New

Creates a new, blank file in program

 

Open

Opens or finds a file in program.

 

Save

Saves the active file with current file name, location and file format.

            Click on  to quit “Quick Jump” function.

 

Commands in the Menu

If you right-click on MouseMaestro icon on taskbar, a menu will pop up with the following commands.

Click on this command, a customization dialogue box will pop up with following functions. 

1.       Select a Hotkey

This function contains the default function of a key. You can click on "Display Label" to re-define the key functions. When you click it, a Configure Button box will appear.  

*       Label

In "Button Label" box, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button.

*        Functions

You can see a list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for the button.

*        Launch Application or Website

Type in the path to an often-used application or click the Browse button to select any file in your computer. If you want to attach a web page to the button, just simply type in the website address in the dialogue box.

*       Combination Key

In many Windows application, there are many hot keys to execute some often-used commands. Some of the hot keys are combined with two keys pressed simultaneously, and some are three. It is not easy to press and to remember those hot keys. Now you can define those complicated hot keys you always forgot. Any kind of combination is available. For example,
[Alt] + [F4] = close window,
[Ctrl] + [A] = select all.

*        String

You may define the button as a string of texts which needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 500. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient.

2.       Enable Display Label

This command is to show or hide OSD (On Screen Display). When OSD is enabled, each time you press any one of the multimedia buttons, its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner on the screen. The default of this function is enabled.

3.       Enable Taskbar Icon

This command is to show or hide taskbar driver icon. When the function is enabled, you can see a driver icon its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner of the screen. If you want to reload it again, you can select Start => Program => Configure to launch it. The default of this function is enabled.

4.       Enable Auto Play

This command is to show or hide the auto play function. When the function is enabled, Microsoft Media Player will show on the screen after you press the “Play” key of the multimedia keys. For Winamp user, you can use the multimedia keys to control Winamp function after you call out Winamp and disable Auto play function. The default of this function is enabled.  

When right-clicking MouseMaestro Driver icon on Windows system tray, you will see a check before this item. When this item is enabled, you can use mouse "Quick Jump" function and enjoy freely within these functions that are provided. If you disable it, you can only access normal function of this mouse like scroll up & down. The default of this function is enabled..

Select this command to exit from this driver program, but not to remove (uninstall). After you restart your system, the driver will be loaded again.

In case you have some troubles on installing other programs, we recommend you to exit this Input Device Driver firstly in order to have a cleaner system environment.
